Subject: Wireless Transfer between two laptops
Hello all,
My friends and I thought the other day, "Wouldn't it be cool too affix a
small laptop with a connected camera to a remote-controlled buggy and
send/recieve data between it and another laptop, including the captured
video footage."
Obviously quite a task -- and we said it in half-jest. But I wondered if it
were possible, and set my mind upon at least creating a wireless connection
between two laptops.
I am almost completely unsure as to how to do this. I'm not interested in
connecting to a network or anything like that -- simply making a direct
connection between the two computers, which generally won't have a LOS. I
was thinking about connecting each laptop to a mobile phone, and then having
one "ring" the other, but if possible I'd like to avoid ongoing costs :)
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might go about this?
Should I try and simply make a direct connection between the two laptops, or
should I use TCP/IP to simplify things? If so, is there any extra equipment
involved?
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers,
Andrew Ritchie
