It should be on www.afthd.tu-darmstadt.de/~flexnet soon. They are
currently working on the new web pages.

Subject: Winpack problems I think?
Just started on packet and not used to everything but have a problem I can't
sort out:--Can't get into loacal BBS direct due to only 1.5 watts output,
so, I "Digipeat" through my friends station no problem. If I type c (BBS) v
G(4abc) I can connect first time. But the problem is how do I build a
"Bulls" list. BBS have given me "U" status, my friend told me to type at
command "unproto "BBS" v "G(4abc) which I did, and nothing happens, left
radio and pewter on for 4 days all to no avail. Sent F5 which somone told me
to do to alert BBS I need Bulls after number 123?. Where am I going wrong?
Tnc is KPC3 if that matters at all. Good ideas welcome as I've tried lots of
things over the last 2 weeks and still not getting the "Bulls".
Just a point though I can receive a stream of info from the BBS as if g1aaa
logs in and does whatever I can receive all that traffic. Can also connect
to other hams and then connect to the BBS or to other Nodes.
Polite ideas please on a stuck down envelope or some other means would be
appreciated very much.

I presume you mean that you are trying to receive the FBB unproto
message headers? In which case the following are required:-
1. You need 'U' status on the BBS, but you say you've got that.
2. You must set UNPROTO in your TNC to the BBS callsign, with an
optional digi if you need one. I'm not too sure what you mean by -
"unproto "BBS" v "G(4abc)
But, for example, my local BBS is GB7OPC, so I would set my UNPROTO with
the command UNPROTO GB7OPC
If I needed my unproto sync requests go via a digi, then I would use,
for example, UNPROTO GB7OPC V BOSTON (BOSTON being a digipeater alias)
3. You must be able to hear the unproto beacons when the BBS sends them.
If you can't, then you need to persuade the sysop to send the beacons
via a digi, but he may well not be prepared to do that.
4. You must configure just a few basic TNC parameters correctly. (See
the "Setting Up The TNC" section of the help.)
If you fail at point '3', because you can't hear the beacons, then you
don't need to use the unproto beacons to collect a bulletin list,
