My choice for a very small setup would be:
1. a Yaesu VX-1r (very tiny dual bander!!)

2. A Palm Pilot 5 OR
an HP Jornada 430se (the one James Bond used in his newest flick - VERY
cool.
color LCD look here: http://www.hp.com/jornada/products/430se/overview.html

3. A TNC mabey the KPC 3+ from Kantronics OR wait for TAPR's new "PIC"ket
radio due out soon. It will cost around $30 U.S. http://www.tapr.org

Be SURE and check the LAST issue (Dec. '99) of CQ-VHF
http://www.cq-vhf.com/ (they are merging with CQ)

Have fun & 73! KF4DLK

There are lots. Any packet terminal program that supports the WA8DED host
mode will work with Tiny2-TNC (since I believe the TINY-2 supports the
WA8DED hostmode).

Here are some very popular WA8DED compatible programs:

WinGT (goto www.wingt.de)

Also TstHost (goto http://www.r-j.it/servizi/hp/ik1gkj/ik1gkjuk.htm)

Soon WFTHost will support WA8DED host mode but you can use it now via SV2AGW
packet engine (Goto http://www.cirrus.demon.co.uk/)

There are also many more DOS based terminal programs that support the WA8DED
host mode.

Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of KF4NB's RTTY16 program (ver
1.6) for use generally with simple RTTY modems that only provide mark/space
signals (e.g. like HAL's ST-6, AEA CP-1 etc).

Apparently RTTY16 can also be used as an excellent DOS dumb terminal program
for packet TNC's!

I could only find an older version - RTTY12g on QRZ.COM.

That sounds great! That sounds great! That sounds great! That sounds great!

Just one copy of the message would have been enough enough enough enough!

Don't feel like the "Lone Ranger", Rick! I've had the same thing happen to
me several times, but in my case it was my E-mail software at home that was
doing it. I was just giving you a rib about it.

It's called "RadioMirror" now. Same program though.

Good luck! Let me know how it goes!
