Perhaps more to the point, Roger: Why is a CB'er being allowed to disrupt
the discussion of issues related to alt.ham-radio.packet on this newsgroup?

OK, everybody:

What percentage of alt.ham-radio.packet should be dedicated to CB, I wonder?

Should a similar percentage of CB radio newsgroups be dedicated to
ham-radio.packet?

Hey, why not just have ONE newsgroup for ALL Radio-related stuff? (Ham, CB,
Commercial, Military, Pirate, etc..)

Hmmm?

Or maybe just one PACKET ng, that covers the same categories for Packet?
(Ham, CB, Commercial, Military, Pirate, etc..)

Get the picture?

I suppose, as a last resort, we could try discussing Ham Radio on the Ham
Radio newsgroups, and CB on the CB newsgroups...

Naw, that would make too much sense, and requires a level of literacy and
intelligence that is unreasonable to expect. Right?

People would have to have enough sense to post to the newsgroup that covers
their area of interest, and of course that is too much to expect.

How could I be such an unreasonable person as to suggest such a thing?

It isn't illegal in Europe, and European CB'ers use "UHF" CB freqs for
digital stuff, not 11 meters.

CB Packet is a big thing in Europe; Very popular.

I understand that it is illegal in the US. - It seems a shame.

Still: This is a newsgroup for Amateur Radio operators. There are other
newsgroups for CB stuff, not to mention the hundreds of European CB Packet
web sites.

That's where CB'ers should go to look for info on digital CB systems.

In Holland (Europe), CB is done in FM and it's legal to send Packetradio
on some channels. I don't know how to do packetradio with the soundcard
cause i've got a radio with build-in tnc. (TH-D7e)

Just for the Info.
