Subject: Chicago Packet
I must be in just the wrong spot. I know there is a lot of packet south and
southeast, I used to live down that way. Now I'm on the near West side. I'm
even using a J-pole out in the back porch (added on after the house was built,
all wood) to try and get more signal, converts to a J-beam if I need that kind
of noise-nulling.

Subject: How to use Packet-Radio and Creative Soundcard
Hi all
This particular thread has got a fair bit of interest going in this
household as I was able to connect up to the local BBS and send and
receive packet. This changed as I moved with the ham gear to a different
city but with my trusty computer.
Luckily for me my computer has a sound card and to my knowledge it is a
Creative brand name.I was able to bring a HT with me to the new city but
that is all.
Is there a way to connect up the HT audio and mic and get it fed from my
soundcard?Luckily there is a mic and audio out plug on top of the HT so
I know the PTT can be triggered.
Another thing is the software to use.I used to use Winpack but I do not
think it will work with this arrangement. What other programs are there
out there that are compatible to Winpack ie start with other program and
move to Winpack without losing mail etc?
Wondering as I may be able to get back to packet after a year.
Appreciate any comments

Hi All
As I will very soon be having a multiboot system I am wondering if Win
NT or LILO is a better boot manager or more graphical?
