digipeating, like email. another is to use the bbs systems. the harrdware
setups
are many. I use a smart modem, also called a terminal node controller, or TNC,
and a pc to run the modem. the transciever is a 2-meter rig. the softare on
the
pc is a vt100 terminal emulator, and the tnc is either a MFJ1278 or a PK232.
They have all the software on rom, and do the whole thing.
There are nodes and bbs's in your area, and lots of info on webpages.
