Does anyone know any frequencies for Packet radio in the New York City area?
Brooklyn-Manhattan-Queens..etc.

I can never find any packet stations.

Also do people ever have packet nets? If so, can i get the details for some
in
NYC?

Thanks

If you are refering to the MFJ 1270C TNC-2, I can probably help you.
I have the original instruction manual and although the schematics are very
small,
I could probably copy and enlarge them and send them snail mail to you.
If this helps, e-mail me direct, and I'll be happy to help out.

Remove power from the TNC. Pop open the cover and look for a wafer-type
battery. Remove the battery for about 15-30 seconds, then put it back in.
That battery is used to keep the memory alive when power is removed, so
removing the battery with external power turned off will allow the settings
stored in memory to be reset back to factory-default settings.

Subject: What exactly is TELNET?

As an example, type in to the "run" command :-

telnet library.paisley.ac.uk

that will get you to my uni library (use "opac" at the login for public
use).

It lets you see what telnet can do. Also, some packet BBS's run telnet
connections via the internet.

If TELNET goes by wire, then it's not _radio_ and should not be used
ham _radio_ communications.

It works with a computer to provide packet. Without a computer you can't run
packet.
I used it successfully with a laptop and want to try with my hp320 as well
(need cable cross over).
