Can someone tell me how to use (find and connect to) a Packett or PACTOR
gateway station so that I can send e-mail over HF. I will be operating
froma distant location and would like to get into the internet. I've heard
this can be done. Any advise?

Is anyone interested in setting up a packet -> internet gateway in
Glasgow/Paisley. If so then I'll try and persuade my uni to lend me a bit of
their roof and a *tiny* bit of their MASSIVE internet connection - part of a
multi-gigabyte fibre-op network round Scotland - the only one of its type in
the world </boast> :¬)

Subject: MSYS and Y2K any suggestions ?
Hello,
I have a five port MSYS BBS and node stack located here in Gettysburg PA.
Wondering if anyone has heard of a patch to make the BBS portion Y2K
compatible ?
It appears that at the end of 99 MSYS will switch it's date to 100 and not
00 which is
likely to cause problems when forwarding to non-msys systems such as FBB.
I really dont have the time to learn new software, but dont want to shut
down the BBS
because I have a lot of time and $$ invested.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

At the end of '99, your software will show what two (2) "year" figures it
gets from the computer's clock/calendar... ( 00 ) -- Just like all of your
other software.
Whoever told you it would show "100" after 99 was having a bit of fun with
you.

Joe.....
May I make a suggestion? Instead of trying to home-brew
a TNC for C64 why don`t you concider the ComPakratt
Package? I have this item available for the Pk232.
Used and very serviceable Pk232`s are available for
about $65 to $75 . that combined with the ComPakrat
gets you on the air for about $100 (excluding the Radio).
Bill...
