The diagram for a very effective modem using readily available chips for
both Baycom and Digicom modems has been available for years at:
http://www.concentric.net/~jdport/
Follow the ham radio related links... or email me if difficulties occur.

You mean the DIGICOM V5 128 software will work with that TNC??
I've been using DC128V5 for years and still am with ARMY MARS but
using an MFJ tnx with it.

Sorry Charles, but I have advanced my cpu's clock to show year 2000 and this
is
what MSYS does, advances to year 100. This is why I am trying to get info on
a
Y2K fix for it.
Otherwise, I'll have to learn FBB or let it all go..
Too bad .. packet used to be real hot around here, but has really died in
the last year
or so..
Thanks for you input but still need a patch.

In order to run DIGICOM>64 on a Commodore SX, you will have to make a
small modification to the computer. The packet modem for the 64 is
designed to connect to the cassette port, and the SX did not include
this socket. The connection points are available on the SX's circuit
board however, so by installing your own jack on the computer you can
run DIGICOM without any problems.

DIGICOM requires six connections: +5 volts, Ground, TX DATA, RX DATA
(to two different places), and PTT (push-to-talk).

Modem ground connects to pin 1 of the cassette port, and the +5 volt
supply hooks up to cassette pin 2. You can find a +5 volt and ground
point at many places on the SX. TX DATA which normally goes to pin 3 of
the cassette port can be connected to pin 24 of UD7 on the SX's circuit
board. PTT (normally at pin 5 of the cassette port) can be connected to
UD7 pin 26. The RX DATA connection (pins 4 and 6 of the cassette port)
can be attached to UD7 pin 25 and UD3 pin 24. UD7 is the SX's 6510
microprocessor, and UD3 is the 6526 chip closest to the bottom of the SX
