RAFARS AGM 2003 RAF COSFORD.
35 Members attended the AGM held at the RAF Museum, Cosford. This figure
included the President, Air Cdre B. Wynn OBE BSc RAF, the Chairman G8GKQ
with 7 members of Council, and 7 Area Representatives.
A full report will be available in due course. but one important item was
the acceptance of the new 2003 Constitution. The result of the ballot was
193 in favour and 6 against acceptance.
Dave G8GKQ won the Construction Cup. Roy G0TBY won the G2LR Trophy.

MATERIAL FOR QRV
Roy, 2E1RAF the new Editor of QRV requires your stories and other inputs.
Submissions by e-mail to <2e1raf@thersgb.net> or by post to his address in
QRZ. He is particularly interested in articles from younger members and
also stories about "the other mans shack" including your equipment, any
operating difficulties, and your antenna farm.

How many RAFARS Members have 5mhz NoV? If you have then please inform Roy
with details of equipment and antenna in use. Given sufficient inputs a
summary will appear in the next QRV.

RAFARS QSL BUREAU.
Reminder - Andrew SWL 898 RAFARS QSL Bureau Manager  QTHr in the RAFARS,
QRZ Call Book.
Members please do not send more than 5 SAEs and no larger than A5.
A good idea is to send one SAE with instructions to return when full. When
you receive it with QSL Cards, send Andrew another SAE and so on.
Below is a list of RAFARS Members who have QSL Cards waiting at the Bureau
but NO SAE to put them in.

These two AFS contests require a team of RAFARS members within a 50 mile
radius of a set location. Any RAFARS Member can organise this, but if you
do, please contact Roger G3ZDW our Contest Manager for information that
will help to prevent a clash of team locations.
All RAFARS Members On Parade 1200hrs at RAFARS Rally Stands for a chat.
If no RAFARS Stand then meet at the RSGB Stand.

RESULTS OF THE ROLLING 3 CW CONTEST 2003.

RESULTS OF THE NFD 2003.
In the Restricted Section RAFARS G8FC came 18th out of 27 taking part.
Roger G3ZDW submitted a report which is printed with a photograph on pages
23/24 of the November edition of Radcom.

GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
GB2RAF will be QRV 8 Nov 2003 on SSB or CW around RAFARS Freq.
The Station is operational on the second Saturday of every month from 1000
-1500 local time.
All RAFARS/RNARS/R.Sigs who would like to operate or visit the station are
welcome. Phone Terry, G4PSH, on 01692 582064 if you wish to operate. 
(Operators please bring your Amateur Licence and I/D). 

AIR TRAINING CORPS RADIO.
115 Peterborough Squadron are QRV most Monday and Wednesday evenings
on VHF 2m and on Amateur HF Bands using the call GX0PUV (RAFARS 3402).
If any RAFARS Members are interested in joining an ATC Squadron as a Radio
Civilian Instructor contact your News Desk.

AIR SHOWS AND FLY-INS.
No more major Air Shows till the Spring.
2004 RAF/USAF Mildenhall Suffolk Air Fete CANCELLED (for runway repairs)

SHUTTLES AND INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION ZARYA NEWS UPDATE.
The Shuttle programme should recommence on 11 Mar 2004 with the Shuttle
Atlantis STS114 17th Flt to the ISS for a crew change. This Flight depends
on NASA completing its investigations.
In the meantime Soyuz the Russian Space craft will continue to service the
International Space Station with crew changes and supplies.

G8FC RAF COSFORD RADIO SHACK.
Its your Club Station so why not pop over now and put the G8FC Call on the
air. I'm sure it would be appreciated by all members of the society. Its
quite easy to find, Junction 3 off the M54. The shack is inside the
perimeter fence so members will require a security pass. This is why you
must contact Mike G7JPN or Keith MODZB in advance. Contact details are
below or in QRV.
