EI Activity Day 2003
This year, St. Patrick's Day falls on a Monday so the annual EI
Activity Day is being extended to a three day event to be held from
Saturday to Monday inclusive.
EI stations are still in great demand by stations trying complete
their Worked EI Counties Award and many overseas stations are also
collecting Worked All Ireland Squares.
We look forward to the usual high level of activity from EI over
this weekend. Activity from some of the rarer counties would be
especially welcome.

Contests in the coming weeks
The main contest next weekend is the ARRL CW contest which will be
held on the 15th and 16th over 48 hours from midnight Friday. In this
one, the exchange is signal report plus your power output, i.e.
5991100.
You only work U.S. and Canadian stations and their exchange will be
signal report plus their state, i.e. 599 New York.
We do have a geographical advantage over our European brethren in
this one and in last years event, Dave EI4BZ finished world first on
10 metres.
The SSB leg of this contest takes place two weeks later on March 1st
and 2nd.
The weekend after next is a busy one for both SSB and CW contesters.
The CQWW SSB 160m contest is on February the 22nd and 23rd together
with the REF SBB and the UBA CW.
The E.E.C. trophy for the leading E.C. station in the UBA contest
has been won twice from EI in the past, both times on SSB. Will we
have a CW winner?
