RAFARS HQ COMPUTER
Thanks to the RAFARS Technical Manager, Bob G4DDM,the HQ computer has now
recovered from its problems and is again able to receive your emails and
the Administrator can enter data.
SECOND CALL SIGNS
Mike, the RAFARS Administrator/Gen. Sec.would be pleased if members would
indicate which is their primary or preferred callsign when they obtain
more
than one This applies particularly to those members who are now M3.
The primary or preferred call sign is the one that will be used for
mailing
addresses, membership cards and the main entry in QRZ.
GB617SQN RAFARS SPECIAL EVENT STATION
GB617SQN will be operational from RAF Scampton on 15th to 17th May
to mark the overnight raid by 617 Sqn on the Ruhr Dams in 1943.
The station will be run by the RAFARS Roadshow Team. Operating
places are available, contact Roy M0CBN or Bob GODAM soonest.
A RAFARS News Flash was also sent out on the 11 March to mark the Sqns
formation on the 21 to 24 March when GB617SQN SES was also on the air.
RAFARS QRV MAGAZINE.
All RAFARS Members have by now been sent their copy of QRV magazine and
the latest QRZ Callbook. All RAFARS Members who have articles,stories,

FREE BIPLANE
The Museum of Army FLying, Middle Wallop has a large (6ft.approx)
model of a biplane (type unknown) for which seeks a home. No charge
but future owner collects and it would have to be reassembled.
If anyone is interested contact the Director Museum of Army Flying

RAFARS TECHNICAL MANAGER SUPPORT.
A volunteer, preferably one who lives within easy travelling distance of
RAF Cosford, West Midlands (Junct.3 M54), is required to assist and
support Bob, G4DDM,the RAFARS Technical Manager. Volunteers should contact

Report from Roy G0TAK A/R Lanc's. 41 RAFARS Members attended the RAFARS
Stand, with lots of help from Roy G0TBY our Marketing Manager. It
was good to see so many RAFARS Members including our Secretary Mike
G7JPN from HQRAFARS.
GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD NORFOLK.
GB2RAF will be QRV 12 April 1000-1500 local SSB or CW around RAFARS Freq.
GB100MAS 100 YEARS OF FLIGHT.
Brian MM0ERK (Not RAFARS) Has asked RAFARS for assistance in running
a Special Event Station from Montrose Scotland. It will on the air
3 4 and 5 May and again 26 27 July to commemorate 100 yrs of the first
Air Station before the start of the second world war and during the

All Shuttles have been grounded until further notice.
The International Space Station will be served by Russian Soyuz Space
Craft until NASA gives clearance for Shuttle Flights to recommence
which could be as soon as Autumn 2003.
