RAFARS NEW PRESIDENT.
Air Cdre Mark Neal OBE. is the new President of the society.
RAFARS Council and Members wish to welcome Mark to his new position as our
President.
AGM BRIEF REPORT 2007.
The Dinner on the Friday was attended by 26 who had an enjoyable evening
It was nice to see the XYLs of some members in attendance. The ladies day
out was a visit to the Iron Bridge Museum and a good time had by all.
The AGM was attended by 7 Council Members G0DNI,G7JPN,G0DAM,G3ZDW,G0TAK,
M0MJG,M0DZB and 12 Members G0BYA,G0JKW,G0SWO,G2AFV,G3VAO,G4DDM,G4DQP,G4HIY,
G4PSH,G4SOH,G8RJO and MW0BLM.
The G2LR Trophy this year was presented to G3ZDW 551, well done Roger.
You will be all pleased to hear that the Subs again remains at £11.
A more detailed report will appear in the QRV Journal and the Minutes will
be available from our secretary G7JPN on receipt of a C5 SAE.
Terry G4PSH/P and Roger G3ZDW/P did have a chat on 144.725 on the Friday
evening, no other RAFARS members heard over the weekend.
VP8CXV/VP8RAF FALKLAND ISLANDS ACTIVATED.
As from 4 Sept 2007 GM0TQJ Chris will be active with VP8CXV and VP8RAF
for 4 months on most HF Bands on SSB. QSL direct, QSL bureau or to his
home QTH. If anyone should have a QSO with Chris please inform the
National Net or News Desk so as we will have an idea of freq and times.
Some members at the AGM were quoted as saying Chris was heard on 18m .
NETHERLANDS AIR FORCE RAS PI4NAF RAFARS 0005
To celebrate the 20th birthday of the Society, PI4NAF will be QRV with the
callsign PA20NARAS on HF and VHF between the 3rd - 19th November.
RAFARS IN OLD TIMERS HONOUR ROLL.
On the 31st Dec 2006 the following calls had an unbroken membership
of the RSGB for 70 years G8FC, G8RAF and GB2RAF.
DATES OF 2007 RAFARS COUNCIL MEETING AT DCAE COSFORD.
13 Nov. A Field Rep will be invited to each meeting and travel expenses
paid. All members may ask to attend meetings but expenses are not paid.

RESULTS OF THE SSB FIELD DAY 2007.
The results of the SSB Field Day 07 have just been published.
G8FC/P came 21st out of an entry of 28 in the Restricted Section.
The Operators were G4WZI,M0DZB,G4DQP,G1YFX and G3KWY ably supported by
G0DAM,G0NVY and G3VCA. On behalf of RAFARS, Well done.

GB2RAF should be QRV every 2nd Saturday of the Month 1000-1500 hrs local
on RAFARS frequencies SSB or CW on 80m, or 40m if conditions are poor.

14 Feb 08 Endeavour STS123 to ISS with Kobo Japanese logistics module.
24 Apr Discovery STS124 to ISS with Kobo Japanese logistics module.
7 Aug Atlantis STS125 to Hubble Telescope with 7 crew for final
servicing.
18 Sep Endeavour STS126 to ISS with a Multi purpose logistics module.
The ISS should be completed by 2010 and will then act as a stepping stone
to the Moon and then beyond.
All Shuttle Flights are subject to delays.
