URGENT OLDHAM RADIO RALLY SUNDAY 22 JAN 2006.
Roy G0TAK has been asked to run a RAFARS Stand at the Oldham ARC Rally
at the Sports Centre, Lord St, Oldham on Sunday 22 Jan 06. Roy is quite
willing to run the stand but he must have assistance from RAFARS 
Members in the Oldham area. So that RAFARS can fly the flag please contact
Roy today our QRV Editor QTHr or email him 2e1raf@thersgb.net.

DATES OF 2006 RAFARS COUNCIL MEETING AT DCAE COSFORD.
Dates for 2006 meetings are 21st Feb. 20th Jun. 19th Sep. 14th Nov.
An invitation to an Area Rep. to attend each meeting will continue.
Any member may ask to attend but travel expenses are not paid.
The Annual Dinner and AGM will be the weekend of Oct13/14.

RAFARS QRZ EDITOR.
Duncan G0NWY our QRZ Editor has now returned to the UK from VP8 Land.

EMAIL NEWS LETTERS.
The 103 Members who are on News Desk email listings for the Monthly NLs 
will now receive the NLs under BCC addressing. In this way you will not
receive the whole address list with your copy. This will save space, paper
and, more importantly, make the data better protected for all members.

HORNSEA RADIO RALLY REPORT 16 OCT 2005.
Bernard G0SWO A/R raised the RAFARS flag in Hornsea, East Yorkshire.
The rally was fully booked with 2 RAFARS tables instead of 4.
12 members signed in and 2 membership forms handed out.
Thanks to Gordon M0SCT 3830 and Jean, Bernard’s Station Manager and all
those who took an interest in the RAFARS stand.

Messagathon 2 has been delayed until resources available.

GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
On Sat 12 Nov I worked 26 Stations on 3.710. Conditions good but there did
not seem to be many G stations on but I did have a chat to GI4SAM
G3DHY G3JUX and G3SPU also ON4PTC Passchendaele	(WW2 Cemetery) Nr Ypres
in S Belgium.  Once again I was on my own.
GB2RAF will NOT be Operational 10 Dec 2005 Due to major electrical Grid
installations to the Museum. GB2RAF will be QRV Jan 14 2006 1000-1500 hrs
local on SSB and CW 80m or 40m  if conditions are poor.
All RAFARS/RNARS/R.SIGS who would like to operate the station are welcome.

REMINDER QAP G8FC ON THE AIR FIRST MONDAY OF THE MONTH.
Stan G0BYA and Don M0FHM will be QRV with G8FC at HQRAFARS every first
Monday of the month using CW on the hour and SSB on the half hour. QAP
around the RAFARS frequencies between 1000-1200 and also from 1330-1500hrs

NORFOLK/SUFFOLK VHF 2m MONTHLY NET.
Due to lack of RAFARS Members on the net over the last few years, Terry
G4PSH the Area Rep. for Norfolk/Suffolk, regrets he will no longer be QRV
on 145.375 at 1930hrs local on the 1st Thurs of the Month .

INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION ALPHA/ZARYA.SPACE SHUTTLE.
Shuttle Discovery lift off May 2006 subject to delays.
In the meantime Russian Soyez is also standing by for crew changes, stores
supplies and waste if required.
