RAFARS TEMPORARY MARKETING MANAGER
Roy G0TBY will be away all summer and thinks it best that he gives up the
post of Marketing Manager. As a temporary measure until the AGM in October
or sooner if a volunteer steps forward, Dorrie the wife of G0DAM will deal
with requests for commodities for Rally stands and mail orders. Requests
should be addressed to G0DAM - address in QRZ.
NOTE Commodity parcels have been dispatched, or are in hand for 18th May
Drayton Manor, 20th June Newbury DARS, 18th July McMichael Rally and 8th
Aug Winborne.
RAFARS ANNUAL DINNER AND AGM 2004
The Annual Dinner will be held at the Aviator Hotel, Sywell, Northants
on Friday, 8th October and the AGM on Saturday 9th October 2004.

RSGB SSB FIELD DAY 2003.
RAFARS (G8FC/P)came 5th out of 16 entries in the Restricted Section.
Well done to those who took part, it is good to see RAFARS Represented.

COMMONWEALTH AIR FORCE NETWORK (CAF).
Frank G0KZS RAFARS 2959 QTHr is seeking information from anyone who served
in Kenya in the 50s and has any knowledge of the CAF. Frank has tried the
Internet with no results. Surely some of our members must be able to help
Frank revive old memories of the CAF.

RSARS CW AWARNESS DAY TRI SERVICE CONTEST (CWAD).- SUMMARY OF RULES
Open to members of RAFARS, RNARS, RSARS and ROARS. Operate CW only for a
max. of 12 hours over the weekend of 24/25 July (0001-2359). All HF bands
except WARC but including 160mtrs. Score 1pt per band working RAFARS, 2pts
working the other societies. Bonus pts for working multi society members.
Logs to RSARS Contest Manager - B. Rowe G4WYG, 9 Dunstall Grdns, St. Marys
Bay, New Romney, Kent TN29 0QT within 2 weeks of the contest. Logs can be
on floppy disc or paper: also acceptable by e-mail to g4wyg@milsurf.net.

RIAT FAIRFORD SPECIAL EVENT STATION.
Max M3RGO RAFARS 4433 (Not QTHr) is thinking of putting on a RAFARS SES at
the RAIT Fairford on 17/18 July 2004. It would be good PR for RAFARS but
Max would appreciate some help, particularly from an ex A class licence
member, to assist him to put it on the air. So if you live near Fairford
and are willing to help, then please e-mail Max at <bmews@hotmail.com>.
Your response will determine whether or not it can be achieved and if not
this year maybe in 2005.

GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
GB2RAF will be QRV 8 May on SSB or CW around RAFARS Freq.
The Station is operational on the second Saturday of every month from 1000
-1500 local time.
Communications were good in April and one of the contacts was with GB2RN
located on HMS Belfast moored on the Thames in London.
All RAFARS/RNARS/R.Sigs who would like to operate or visit the station are
welcome. Phone Terry, G4PSH, on 01692 582064 if you wish to operate.

SILENT KEY Alan Hobbs (CI) 1924 Sherley Sqn, Surrey WRO and London and
S.E.Region Radio Team for many years he also attended ACO Radio Comms
Conferences at HQAC. Alan will be missed greatly by the ATC Radio Society.
