At the present time, MT63 doesn't have ARQ. And it's quite true that the
long turn-arount time means it's not going to work like PACTOR or Amtor ARQ.
But I have been working on an ARQ "wrapper" to stick around MT63 (or just
about any mode), and hope to have something working soon... the problem is
one of time to get it done, not a technical problem.

MT63's heavy FEC makes ARQ "less important" than for other modes (such as
RTTY or PSK31) that have no correction, but there certainly is a need
for it. An ARQ layer can allow for more than just fixing errors when they
occur: it will allow a full connection-oriented stream of data to be
sent - which allows unattended operation, multiple/parallel data streams,
adaptive data rates, and a number of other advantages.
