Hello Bob,
The Renewable Fuels Association is a trade organisation for ethanol
producers.

There are distribution problems with ethanol.
It cannot be put through piplines and requires specual tankers to deliver to
service stations.
It also rwuires 40 % more tankers to deliver it due to the lower energy
(KM/Ltr) content.
When mixed with petrol it does not pose the same problems I presume because I
think that existing tankers are used.
Ian can probably answer that question.
What I said above is probably correct for E10 but E85 may well be a different
kettle of fish.
