Hi Pete and all,
I have no idea what you're referring to when you take a quote like The
Today Show out of context so I can't answer your question. I've forgotten
the reference, oh well.
I don't have to re-check your post IF I could find it, it was a joke and
you ignored the winkie.
Oh yeah, the weight to horsepower ratio. The VW bug wasn't and isn't a
dragster so I don't see any comparison except perhaps to the average
passenger car. They all accomplish the same purpose only some are more
economical than others, none can ever win a competition. I know of a
perfect example of a "sleeper" that raised a lot of eyebrows, I drove it.
I had a Chevy Monza with the stock Honda 4cyl OHC engine that wouldn't
get out of its own way but served my purpose, basic transportation. A
friend bought a mechanic's car built for his wife who couldn't handle it,
another Monza with a GM LT-10 package, beefed up steering and suspension,
da woiks. The large metalflake blue paint job made it da bomb but I
digress. I had fun with it on a stretch of highway with a quarter mile
between lights, it ate Corvettes for breakfast and spat out the drivers.
When the shock wore off I gave them a peek at the power plant; "That's
the same thing I got!" Yeah bro but there's a difference, I have 1/3 the
body weight.
I wonder what would happen if it were Ampzilla equipped? I wonder how it
feels to ride a rocket sled?
Nah, I handed my need for speed over to Tom Cruise Missile and he took it
to Top Gun flight school.
