Hello Barry and everyone, talking it up on what we've all
known for a long long time.....

<< Quoting VK2AAB to FUEL @WW >>

> The price here in Sydney today is $1.39 a litre.
> A week ago it was $1.49.
> The price is likely to go up a bit soon as the US "Driving Season"
> is about to start.

When last I looked it had sat here locally at C$1.24:9/litre
BUT ...YES summer is jack-it-up month...then we have that long
s-l-o-w spiral down to something acceptable to the "sheep".

> The Saudi Arabian supply did not increase as promised to make
> up for the Libyan reduction of near 1 Million barrels a day as
> promised. That might cause some tightness in supply.

When the west invaded Libya, the price was going up anyhow
and some genius on the TV said it didn;t matter as they <Libyians>
only made up 2% ...but then too up went crude oil....good excuse.

Hmmmm... now ...we are spring, looking at summer, and the driving
season...so yes a great reason for some real profit, and easy
to blame it ...mmmmm....well over there...outta mind and sight.

> Chinese demand is still increasing so that will put the screws on
> even tighter.

Yes....

> The plateau of oil production is still going along at around 86 million
> barrels a day for all liquids. A spike of an ectra 600,000 a day

I don't cover it as much as you do Barry. I am medically retired
and no one will employe me, due to my medical, and with that my
OAP is going to drop until I am 65 :( ... But when I used to drive
the distance 190km roundtrip...my fuel bill per day was about
C$ 20.00 ....BUT now..I shutter to think what some are spending
and they have no choice but to live here and commute, as
it is too expensive to live south of here...and that shows
at the pump prices...as the highest we saw last time out was
C$1.37:9/litre...a few days ago. Tonight they promise higher
prices...so joe-public gets it again...

OOhhh I think there are a few out there...who know.

> The US imports around 10 Mbd which needs 5 2Mbarrel tankers every day

And a pipeline from the tarsands of alberta Canada ...refine the oil
and sell it back to the Cannucks at a higher price.

> Japan is in a worse situation as they import all their oil.
> They import 8 Million barrels a day. That needs 4 2Mb tankers a day.
> It is a 100 day round trip from Japan to the Middle East.
> That means 400 tankers are always at sea suppling just Japan.

When I read all this ... can you imagine what the result would
be if a rogue Submarine got loose with a good supply of "fish"
and popped a few of these tankers... mmmm... makings of a movie.

BTW ..Barry...I understand you are total RF... forwarding with
HF..and that is neat. I am thnking of getting my HF going like
that ... just to try... I just thought I'd let you know that
I appreciate you giving the Internet the boot ...you have pure
packet radio.... the reason for the hobby.

Anyhow... see you around .... after I see the pump prices.
