I don't know what your road toll figures are but ours are not so good, and
a good deal of the deaths on the roads in this state are through speeding
motorists losing control on a bend and hitting a tree. They would have
been travelling well above the speed limit and 40% have been drinking.
I have driven a car for 70 years and I know that 110 kph is about the
maximum safe speed on our roads most of which are narrow and tree lined.
OK I was young when I first had a car and like most young guys tried it
out for speed and I can tell you with some authority that an A model Ford
in good condition will not exceed 63 mph.
Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.
