It does not matter about speed here in Nottingham. The local councils have
put speed bumps in the road. If you go faster than 15 mph the impact will
smash your car (auto) suspension to bits.

I have been to garages' (auto repair shops) the tell me it is now common
to replace a lot of the suspension members on cars. My own car has needed
so far three sets of suspension parts called "bushes" they are made of
rubber like doughnuts and they rip up. It's a couple of hundred quid (UKP)
to get them replaced. So I travel a lot in first or second gear. That
messes around with the miles per gallon performance.

I planned a longer route to work where at least I can travel in a more
respectable speed enabling the use of the fifth gear. Now the fuel economy
goes up to 300 miles to the tankfull of petrol (gasoline) and at the
moment œ 45 cost (UKP). That lasts me for around 3 - 4 weeks.

Befor any one asks I travel around 28 miles per hour as the spedometer is
a shade low (made that way for all cars).
