Bob,
I have just finished reading the WA Transport report to which you referred
me.
Seriuosly, I don't think you read past the first paragraph of the executive
summary;
--------------
This report presents the results of a cost benefit analysis comparing diesel,
compressed
natural gas and hydrogen fuel cell buses in the Perth bus fleet based upon the
life cycle
societal costs and benefits of each technology.
----------------
I think you read that and thought the bus used CNG & diesal.
The report compares three different types of busses.
They have three hydrogen busses and they state quite clearly that they will not
be
economic for 10 years IF they can improve the fuel cells and they can find a
cheaper source of hydrogen.
The hydrogen is obtained from hydrocarbon sources such as oil or gas.

As a commercial propersition they would be a dismal failure.
This report agrees exactly what my son's FiL said.
I suspect that he has probably read the report and they are the same bus to
which he referred.
His company gave up the idea and produced hybrid busses like the Prius car.

The upshot is that trolley busses would be a lot better and cheaper.
