I don't think the initial virus would have been that much of a problem to
remove, it was just the fact that I followed a link provided by Avira to a
recommended removal software. I'm not even sure the link was provided by
Avira, it might well have just been made to look like an Avira popup window.
As everything was lost, I cannot even back track to work out what happened.

I must admit, it took me quite a while to remember how to reconfigure Winpack
to get it connecting - such a long time since I last had to change anything.
