I suspect that any crash, financial or otherwise will be more the result
of
population increase than shortage of oil,gas, and eventually food.
The increase in population won't be even, either.
According to something I read a couple of years ago, the western
population is decreasing due to only producing 1.3 kids per couple as
against 2.4 previously. This is due to the fact that the west took up the
contraceptive pill enthusiastically in the 1960s while other parts of the
world didn't, either through social, religious, reasons or just plain
stupidity.
Picture the demographics in the mid 21st century. People who are rich
enough locked away in gated communities while the poor are killing each
other off to see who gets the most comfortable shop doorway to sleep in.
As for the ethnic distribution, it will be a case of "OOh mommy, look, a
white man !"
Non of this bothers me as I have no kids and by the mid 21st I will be
dead like all of you, so why bother about peak oil, global warming etc.
We're doomed, I tell you, we're all doomed !
