Yes Barry, the Perth buses are manufactured by Mercedes-Benz.
There is more information on another website.

QUOTE: In recognising the potential benefits of hydrogen, the State
Government of Western Australian through the Department conducted a trial
of three hydrogen fuel cell buses, known as EcoBuses. The trial ran from
September 2004 to September 2007 and was the flagship project for the
Department's Sustainable Transport Energy for Perth (STEP) program. This
was the first significant use of hydrogen as a transport fuel on public
roads in Australia and to support the trial the Department established the
ONLY hydrogen supply and refuelling infrastructure in the southern
hemisphere.UNQUOTE.

There is a picture of one of the buses on a couple of the websites. They
look like a normal bus to me with no sign of a huge storage tank. I think
I saw somewher that the tank has copressed hydrogen at 3000 p.s.i. That
is a lot of hydrogen in a small space. We are using compressed LPG and LNG
why not LHG? From the above QUOTE it would seem that the hydrogen IS
supplied from storage and that there IS a tank on the bus apparently large
enough to supply the bus but not so large as to be noticeable in pictures.

Leaks in these buses would hardly be a problem because of the danger of an
explosion. Also the department's buses do not park in garages which would
have to be enormous to hold all their buses; they are in a yard. The
buildings are workshops.

I would think the jury is still out on the results of this experiment and
we will hear the results in due course. There are informed experts
somewhere but it is not us.
Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.
