Hi Pete and all,
Just to get canned fuel that burns off the top, Sterno (tm) or "canned
heat" is popular with the fancy serving crowd and gutter bums, two
extremes and both for it's alcohol content. That (ug) being said we move
along to something I'd rather eat.
While canned corned beef is edible I prefer it from the butcher shop but
food prices going up every day slammed on the brakes, once in a while a
can from SA makes a good sandwich with mustard. I have no idea where
"bully beef" came from, was your dad fond of Teddy Roosevelt? Oh wait a
minute, that would be moose meat, something Sara Palin seems to be fond
of. No, she can't see Russia from Nowhere, Alaska.
As for Spam that hated whatever it is; Specially Prepared translates to
boiled with geletin as a binder, American... Hormel is an American
company, Meat is however suspect when you consider "meat byproducts"
which are parts even the maggots won't touch, fat, gristle, scraps
scraped of the machines, floor sweepings, and GKW they won't put in dog
food. Yes, it's genuine mystery meat in a can, somewhat more edible than
those shoe leather patties in some brown goo they serve kids at the
school cafeteria, truely another sort of mystery meat.
E-mail SPAM is appropriate, it too is unsolicited and unwanted crap in a
can only you can delete it. I now refer you to the Monty Python SPAM skit
that rather sums up my feelings on the matter. So why do I love scrapple
so much when it contains every part of the pig except the squeal? Maybe
because it's no mystery, maybe because it doesn't contain so much salt I
can actually swallow it and not drain Lake Louise afterward.
And now something completely different...(?)
