There's no such word as spicyolic - you'll only find one google reference 
to it. Brian Sewell is a "wordsmith" - I assume he invented the world to
combine "spicy" - as in "hot", and "olic" (from colic) as in "not" (colic
meaning and inflammation of the colon, from  late Latin, coilicus).

Hence, I can only assume that in perhaps a rather too subtle way, Brian
Sewell was trying, but no necessarily succeeding, to tell us that whereas
the gearbox was supposed to be slick", it was actually "sick".

It isn't the sort of question you'd never ask Sewell if you were in his
company. You'd just get a withering look which would make it clear that
you don't appreciate his subtlety. He's an art critic and very
supercillious. He doesn't go in for painting by numbers.
