The benevolent West Australian Government gives a number of discounts to
senior citizens like me. Half vehicle licence fee, free driving licence,
half water and sewerage charges, no recording fee for electric power, a
free pubic transport trip per year (I can catch a bus to anywhere in the
state for a holiday with a free ticket). The Australlian Goivernment also
come to the party with tax concession. I don't have to put in a tax return
till my income reaches about $25 000 a year, and I get free medical
treatment, telephone allowance, pharmaceutical allowance and some other
perks. I can get free legal assistance and advice at a legal aid office.
My insurance company gives me a seniors discount on both home and car
insurance. I run two vehicles with a discounted licence on both; one is a
scooter. I have not much to complain about.
