The only way I can use Echolink with my Netgear DG834G Modem is to
activate 'disable port scan and DOS protection' in the WAN (wide area
network) setup.

So it must be a Firewall problem.

This is undesirable as it leaves me open to attack by hackers.

The problem has been posted on the 'Port Forward' E'link forum but I have
had no replies.

Netgear has been phoned but they are not helpful.

The modem has firmware ver1.05 installed.

If anyone reading this has had this problem and has the answer I would
like to know what it is.

Eqso works fine and is not affected.
