MFJ tuners illumination tip.
You know the problem,the MFJ tuner works fine except the VSWR
illumination does'nt work since in Europe it is difficult to find a
plug that fits the 13V receptacle provided.
The needles are quite thin and may be difficult to observe.
My super simple safe & sound solution:
Open the tuner and slide an insulated wire through the receptacle.
Solder it to the back end of the receptacle,connect a bananaplug to the
other end of the wire.
Insert this into the + post of your 13,8volt xcvr powersupply.
The - is connected through the coaxcable braid automatically.
You now have much improved control over your VSWR readings!
