Hi Pete and all,
Getting down to the meat of the matter, the US has adopted VHF channel 9
as the primary small craft calling frequency freeing up 16 for distress
calls and general alert announcements such as when the tow boat asks for
a wide berth and no wake when transiting the inlet. By your agreement it
seems Canada has adopted the policy at least unofficially. For the
benefit of those outside North America each has a slightly different
channel assignment plan and I >think< Europe might follow Canada's plan
but I'm not sure. That leaves me wondering about the Great Lakes but I
can always download the assignments from the USCG if I ever go back again.
Pete I'm surprised at you, the boat is named after the giant meat eating
alien plant Audrey 2 in Little Shop Of Horrors. Maybe somebody should
give YOU a thump with a spare battery pack, hmmm.
