>Hi Peter and all,

> Right there... wazzup with this dependence on cell phones?
>Maybe they think they work everywhere? "It's a radio? Nah,
>it's a telephone!" I guess they never heard the word
>"radiotelephony" in their lives and nobody explained that
>"wireless" is the original word for radio. Anyway I
>like that name Audrey 2, FEED ME!
G'Evening Warren and all...whatever the time....
I explained the difference between Marine VHF and cellphone
and I told of the guy donw the street, who was lost babbling
into his cellphone and expecting everyone to find him.
Most boats here at Marine VHF tuned to CH 16 ...easy.
So you want to know about "Audrey 2" ....mmmm.... does that
name remind you ...mmmm...of a past flame in our CB days?
"Audrey 2" is my ride for the 2008 season, which is very
quickly wrapping up. The 23ft Grampian is for sale.
The owner got a hold of me, to go down and open it up
< yeee dad ! It needed it ...smelled like something died! >
and let any new buyers look her over, as well going out
with them, which I did, as well allowing me a place to
be afloat for the season with the rest of my cronies.
I do have a picture if you'd like to have it...
Heres a good one ... the boat is owned by the local
Undertaker .
> Well you lost an ultralight, we lost a surfer. That's
>the windup of that story, no pizza in the recue basket.
Oh ... so the pilot never got his Pizza ...thats more
important..isn't it?
>As for mrine radio you're right, a quick call on channel 9
>would have rendered assistance by any nearby craft.
Some might disagree...oh dear have I seen this "sigh"...
The main reason I asked for CH 9...was that the local
sail club had many boats on that frequency and they
were much closer then calling on CH 16 to some distant
station...end of story there.
>I wouldn't use 16 however, it wasn't a mayday. So didn't
>someone make sure there were new batteries in the HT???
Can you believe they never showed me, when I got there
the marine radio. They told me it was at home.
AAA batterys died too quickly ....
>Somebody needs a hit on the head with a spare battery pack!
>Maybe we should drown the rabbit while we're at it too and
>replace him with Murphy. What happened to that truth in
>advertizing law? Rabbits are prolific, batteries aren't.
I have no idea which brand of batterys were used ... I
thought it was wirted into the electrical system of the
boat, as I beleieve he had a cigarette plug.

I have not been to the Audrey for a long time, due to
what I am doing right now. I am behind in some
projects I wanted to do, as well I had to turn down
the BBQ at the home across the lake...as I was still
a bit miffed <MAD DAAG ...grrrr > at the leaving
behind the HT ...but then other circumstances prevented
us from going.
So ends another exciting Marine tale...just a fun
time out on the poluted lake.
