Hi Peter and all,

You can catch up on the golden age of AM Rock by searching the web. Just
run the old callsigns and you'll be surprised at what you come up with. I
found plenty of pictures and audio files, I'm still digging through a few
sites that have info from the day they made the first broadcast. Back in
my BCB DXing days I used one of the best receivers around, a 1956 Buick
Sonomatic car radio powered by the 6V winding on an old TV power
transformer. Those old radios had superb sensitivity and selectivity,
they were MADE for DX which is what you might call listening while
driving out in the country a hundred miles from the nearest radio station
using that itty bitty whip antenna on the fender. A 100' long wire made
it better though. (;->)

I suppose those late night FM DJs still populate the Detroit airwaves but
these days you wouldn't want to use the Edsel Ford, 8 Mile or Gratiot for
anything but getting out of town. It was bad enough in 1965 but these
days Emenem pretty much tells it like it is. Oh, Dirtroit must be pissed
at losing the number one crime slot to Camden NJ last year, they worked
so hard at it too. Hey, the only battle I had back then was with the may
flies coming off the lake, they were so thick they darkened the street
lights and made it impossible to see through store windows. I wasn't too
pleased at the crunch chrunch walking down the street telling me of the
shoe scraping job ahead. Well, maybe there is something to the Motown
accent, they call it Lake Urine. Happy boating!

The sea front property in Nevada will have to wait until the
radioactivity dies down and they fill in all those big holes.

Well, not surprising the Michiganers were brainwashed by the Canuks, we
both use psychology to attract tourists. Come one come all, catch our
fish, buy our junk we import from Taiwan and sell on the boardwalk. Spend
the day having fun in the sun, then eat the greasy gunk that smells so
good even the dog won't touch it, spend your money and go home, PLEASE go
home. Hey, gotta make room for more suckers, fleece 'em, grease 'em and
welcome them back next year. Just keep telling them the lakes in Michigan
are loaded with mercury and they'll spend thier money in Canada. How do
you think we attract fishermen from New York? Tell them the Hudson is a
toxic waste dump of course, we jut don't tell them the striped bass are
bigger up there. Oh, having a Bass River sure helps.

Well, we can do several things to "wazzizname" if the sharks are afraid
of freezer burn. Australia has plenty to offer, maybe he could work
packet DX from Ayer's Rock, we just take off in the helicopter and let
him figure out how to get down. Then we can drop him off in WA and watch
the sparks fly when he and Bob discover each other. Maybe we can drop him
off in Queensland, Steve Irwin could have him feed the crocs at the zoo.
DANGAH DANGAH! No, he's warning the CROCS! You mentioned the interior
better known as the outback, not a good idea, the Aboriginals would get
all upset. Well, maybe they would feed him to a koorie, that's a snake to
you.

Nah, I'm not banned at nearly as many UK BBSes as those lemmings would
lead you to believe. Only GB7FCR as far as I know or as far as I care for
that matter. Trevor The Omnipotent thinks he has me sussed but like you
said the Brits aren't as dumb as he thinks, they find ways of ferreting
out my bulls only they don't always respond @WW to them. I have my ways
too, I know what they say about me and get a chuckle, just I too don't
blast it all over the network. Still Bob is more fun, we have pretty much
the same sense of humor, dry as Alice Springs in summer.

Yup, gotta love those lemmings! Hey, maybe you could send them a moose to
keep them occupied, you already sent us Paul Schaeffer.
