Hey Admiral !!! Wasn't it already a museum, when they did a
refit for the Asia war? Lets see....this is retired to a meseum
time ...number =----> ..mmm well I have lost count.

Anyhow, why not refit, and then have those expereinces, where
you guys can lend yourselves out to some events to stage life
aboard a battleship. Like the wild west, and other historcial
events staged in other countrys by people into that sort of stuff.
I think in UK'erLand they still stage battles of the civil war.
Just a thought, and hey a great way to see the world. They pay
for you to come!

Bob VK6BE is okay. I think I was only banned by one of their
sysops there, crying the blues over something....then funny thing
from another in OZ I got a great email back. Besides Warren
he might invite you down there to visit, and he'd let you campout
on the beach in order to be beaten up by the nuts there.

>Great sort he is but sometimes he forgets the date and time

Who Bob or the dog? Maybe the alien was asking the directions
to OZ? And your dog had to stand on his head to speak to the alien
to explain that down-under is that-a-way.

>It must be pretty darn cold if it's "bleedin' cold", must be
>the Canadian equivelent of losing a certain body part in

There used to be the saying about Brass Monkey Balls...and it
ended up with SWLs mailing the hammie up here to send them a
price list and how they could get this statue that is a Monkey
made of brass that sits outside in the cold, and measures weather.
Or so the story goes...but then that was a story from the source
who was a hammie in the 1950s. And AM was KING!

Oh my..so much to comment on. Santa didn't bring me any coal.
He did bring firewood. I haven't seen coal or used it since
we burned it in the fireplace in Scotland. As for Anti Claus.,
Do you mean... U know who? I haven't heard him around so I guess
his hammie neighbours during the blizzard there..packed him in
something and sent him to those Nazis at the South Pole.

I hope you can hear me now Admiral. I heated the antenna
and sprayed on the antenna RF grease so the signals would slide
off faster in your direction. I went via Lake Ontario, and
the St. Lawrence so they wouldn't end up in or near Quebec
where the separatist BLOC party would be monitorring and citing
me under the Quebec Language Police Act <G>.

Aaaaah Maria....yes my latino heart throb. What can I say.

>Come summer may wind be in your sails and the pirates keep off
>your backstay, set a course for that third star on the left
>and straight on to daylight.

  Hmmmmmmmmm....I hope so.

And not finsihed yet !!! We're in the middle of a Twin-spin
as the old AM DJs used to say :)

>Greeder and his weather machine was the intro used by
>Dan Ingram on WABC 770 NY, don't remember who I listened
>to on WBZ 1030 in Boston.

Hey there Admiral !!!! never heard Danny boy Ingram...must
have been before my time <G>... And as for WBZ in Boston...well
I never heard them until the midnight commute to work and the
rad-i-o was on scan. Just liked the chat, and it helped pass
the time driving.

>Well, (VE3)WBZ still keeps me entertained. (;->)
>Now I'm wondering if you caught the great music and wild DJs
>on WKBW (now WWKB) 1520 Buffalo and CKLW 800 Windsor.

WKBW to me, was CH 7 TV..never listened to their radio outlets
the same for WBEN and WGR <now WGRZ>. CKLW I have heard but
not as a constant listener. We were always CHUM CKEY CKFH
for AM rock...and some of the DJs that thought they were teens.

>Oh there are plenty more from when AM was king and still had
>the local flavor, most notably New York, Mowtown and Philly
>where the great Soul bands came out of.
>BTW, Mowtown Records' house band is still around, bet you
>didn't know the great music behind the name artists was
>The Funk Brothers.

Never knew that...but on trips that went through Detroit,
I was always entertained by the late night FM DJs.

>Yeah, this old salt is a tough old bird (AAARRR!) and after
>hearing about how unstable an island in the Azores is I'm

>sending from a BBS in Pennsylvania. RRR! The USS New Jersey
>would make a great surf board and is rather well radio equipped,
>now if I can get her pointed in the right direction.....

Oh..yeah...well Admiral just buy some seafront property in
Nevada and wait., Then sir you wouldn't have to wait for
NJ to disappear. of course with the warming, and the polar ice
you'll be rather tougher and a dry old bird (AAAAAARRRR!!!) by the
time the oceans rise and bury some parts of the USA.

>Now why the ice fishermen would come across the border is a
>bit strange to me, lakes in Michigan freeze over too.

They've been brained washed by the "Great White North" into
beleiving that the fish taste better here and are safer for eating.

>Yours MUST have anti-freeze in it, here in NJ they're frozen
>BUT not very well and kids falling in are keeping us busy.
>OK, give us a few weeks and we'll have our tipups out
>there hauling in the fish.

Why fish in some lake in NJ when you have the ocean. Admiral...
here is your great chance to use the USS New Jersey as a fishing boat.
Imagine all the people you could carry, and reunions of the old shipmates
and all that....???

>Sorry, can't take wazzizname shark fishing, now they're
>protected. Would you believe it??? No more shark steaks
>broiled in butter sprinkled with Adobo (a Puerto Rican spice mix)
>and oregano! Well, we don't have any monsters in these waters,
>sand sharks aren't much so maybe we can ship him off to Australia
>to entertain Bob and the Great Whites. For the benifit of those
>who are clueless, the sysops spare us the agony of a packet lid
>that has this annoying habit of messing with Peter's locals.

Wouldn't work taking him sharking fishing...Just heard that
sharks don't like to eat Cannucks. It's soemthing to do with what
is called freezer burn.

Admiral...Would you really wish "waazzizname" on BOB and the
Great Whites? What would happen if he escaped to the interior of OZ?

>How some others manage to get out of thier (our) cages is a bit
>of a mystery unless maybe this jerk is far more obnoxious like
>the one a few years ago in SA we got rid of.

There is a bigger untold story...but better told by those who
have the misfortune to be his neighbours.

>You must have found that sack of coal he left you, this message
>turned out better than the last "bloody cold" one. (;->)
>Stay tuned to your local packet BBS for the next chapter of
>"Lemmings from Newcastle on Tyne invade Canada, news at 11,
>see SEASON for details".

What coal? Still I have some coals after the wood burns down.

Lemmings? Read a few..must be still coming out of my drug OD
or something. <G>... Besides haven't they still got you banned
in the UK'erland? Funny thing, that despite the ban...you still
get them coming back at you.
