Hello Everyone ... Hope you are still sailing where ever you are
under fair weather, and a good breeze at your back, to carry you
on course and ontime to your destination in the world.

I can not remember Brent's callsign, but enjoyed his starting this
BOAT@WW as well most of those in the world that also posted their
experiences. Enjoyed most of all the "crow's nest" story from
a ex-cunard employee. What a wave! Enjoyed a few others too,
but due to a computer crash, I lost all the storys as well Brent's
callsign. Brent lives on a 30ft Catalina in San Diego at I think
the San Diego Club. When last I heard he had brought a new hobie 16
and was somewhere in California racing this boat on the lake regattas.

Recently, also read about the Ocean Rowing Race, and the distances that
must be covered to win. Great way for special forces to practice
and prove their worth. Reminds me of the SAS chap that rowed the
Atlantic in a 7ft rowboat a few years back. Also thanks Shirl VK7HSC
for the "Bass Strait" segment of the rowing race you have there.

My days in the 25ft Bayfield are over. The owner has reported that
it was finally sold, and thnaked me for my assistance. It was sad
as I was on the edge of the fence, wondering should I or not. Only
thing stopping me was a question, as to when we could sell our home
in Canada, and move to warmer digs where the boat could be in the water
all year round. Anyway...new boat coming to the lake according to
my friend, so I am to crew on this one, as well take her out.
Looks like a 28ft Hughs-Columbia or a Catalina.

Please keep posting everyone....it has been good reading, and helps
keep the winter blahs at bay <G>.
