Hi Warren, and all,
glad we sorted out the different class of stations ;-)

Ocean Gate would have been WOO - AT&T used to operate it. I occasionally
worked them (from the Atlantic), but preffered CW for buisiness work -
from the Gulf, that was always WNU (Tropical Radiotelegraph). I remember
racing operater Hessel for speed (his name alone sounded quite dotty).

Slighly off (marine) topic now :
Yes, there are, or at least were, broadcast receivers that could lock in
to a carrier. Apparently that would be beneficial even on full carrier DSB
signals sometimes because of the reduced detrimental effect of selective
fading.

There is DRM, of course; see also www.drm.org
Software to receive it using your PC's sound card (and a receiver setup
ending in a 12 kHz or thereabouts IF) is available from the developers
(for money) and others (for nothing).
The freeware can be found on http://drm.sourceforge.net/
The updated DRM schedules is on
http://www2.rnw.nl/rnw/en/features/media/dossiers/drm_schedule.html

Sorry original poster G0FTD, for this bit op topic-napping.
Oh by the way Andy, I don't have any docs for your Sailor equipment - I
would have answered that request. For years now I do flying thingies; no
floating thingies anymore.

73,
Rudolf PF1F (also KR5M)
