True.
It is a thorny problem but I believe we are doing our best to find a
solution. I had some contact with the "stolen generation" through my
teaching experience and also through the Mission for aboriginals run by my
church in Mogumber (about 100 km north of Perth). As far as I could see
the parents of the children on the Mission were welcome there too. On one
visit we played football against the kids and there were plenty of Koori
parents watching, with a meal to follow. Furthermoe some of those of
Aboriginal race have said straight out that if it had not been for the
policy of taking the children away for education they would not now hold
the positions in life that they have - lawyers, professional people. It
seems that there were some advantages for some of the children. We did have
aboriginal children in some of our schools but in some cases it was and
still is difficult to make them attend regularly.
Some aboriginal parents supervised homework classes after school in the
school where I last taught. Their disciplinary measures were much harsher
than our to say the least of it!!!
Ray, your wordwrap is not working and much scrolling is necessary to read
your bulletins.
Cheers,

do have sympathy for the greater Koori population. The stolen generation
is just another example of

Vietnam to fight a war we should never have been involved with. 500
Australians died in Vietnam but
