Hello all the friends around,
no, for nothing on the earth I put me into the permanent (and not udnerstood)
discussion between USA, Australia and UK..
It was the word "patriotic" which mad me thinking about the roots and the aim.
It came to me to compare e.d. France and Germany (I have a lot of friends in
France and speak that language, so I can follow up their way of thinking)
IF some one really flat regard the French with all their emotion, expressed e.d
in their Anthem "Hury up, son of the motherland, the day of glority arrived!"
you-if you do not know the background -may wonder.
But it is in their tradition and THEY MEAN WHAT THEY SAY. (I have a second
example, The motto of the Fire brigades is "Save or die" We, the Germans never
would say it like that but I e.g. have been in South France with the Flying
Fire Service and know well about he annual vatalities, THEY MEAN WHAT THEY
say)
Let me put Germany in reference..
Long times the world "Patriot" was a "no no" due to the history.
It changed and if I ask myself about my standpoint: I am pround about our
efforts in the science, the way how we cope the life (Please dear fellow
countrymen, don't kill me now, every one by experience has his own idea about
that topic) and I am proud about the way how we meet today our neighbours and
about the tolerance (often too much) to the stranger with us.
Comparing our anthem: It is much less "patriotic" like above named french one
"Unitiy and Right and Freedom for our German motherland, Unitiy and Right and
Freedom is my longing by heart and hand..." (etc)
So I think to be patriotic (not to look down to other!) is an essential
feeling, which shows or identity.
And it is the root to understand other nation feeling.
To blame other nation and their attitudes, even, if I do not understand it (no
need for, hi) is absolutelly obsolet..
However,
have a good time and a lot of friendly radio contacts
