In the dim and distant past (probably early 1960's) there was April Fool trick
played upon viewers (of the BBC I think), which took the form of an extremely
serious seeming program describing where spagetti came from - about the
Italian Spaghetti trees. Many viewers took the program serously. Perhaps
that's where the idea originated?
