What happenned to the Treacle mines and how did they originate ?

There was one in Knotty Ash we know. Northampton had one, oddly it was in
the region of the mental hospital in Duston.

Our local radio shop had a nuisance 'customer' who would hang about in the
shop for hours. The owner got rid of him for half a day once by giving him
a bucket, some money for his bus fare, and of course the going rate for a
bucket of treacle.
