Subject: infra red and beyond ?

hi all , a question for all you tecky bods out there , is it possible to
get / make some sort of veriable filter to enable a already infra red
equiped video camera - " see " further into the infra red - ultra violet
range of light frequencies ??

or conversly - I know you can get infra red film ( 35 mm ) can ultra
violet film be had ? - i suspect though this would have a fairly narrow
bandwidth ??

any thoughts on this one please ?

ps : is it possible to use a polerising filter with infra red ??

sorry about typos / spelling - not having a good day to day ( do I ever
?? :-)

all the best de brett .
