I have been trying to find out what the initals A.C.W. stand for they
are the fist 3 intials in the name of the fellow who invented the
Aldis lamp or Morse lamp if you like, that was used and is still
used on some ocean going vessels. I have looked on the internet and
cannot seem to find out what these fist three initials stand for. is there
anyone out there who might know? Any old sea dogs or "sparks" who might
know this or have an old marine reference book that might contain the
information? I would be very greatful if someone could provide this
information. Either post it to aldis@ww or send it to me at
ve1ex@n8da.ampr.org thank you. Andrew
