Could you be more specific on the frequencies that you have heard these
on?
I only ask this as I'm on HF almost 24/7 and have never come across this.
I have heard one on the 28MHz band on 28.185 which rx's and tx's on the
same frequency and also has a roger beep at the end of it's transmissions.
I wonder if anyone else has heard this one when conditions are good on the
10meter band?
