A NEW KIND OF CONTEST ?

Hmmm AM contest - now there's a thought - anyone interested ? ;-)

There seems to be within the world community a current penchant for
"Extreme Sports".
We do already have a "Radio Sports" approach to some Amateur Radio
activities; e.g. Direction Finding, Fox Hunting etc.
Why not an "EXTREME AMATEUR RADIO SPORTS CONTEST" ?
As suggested by Andy there could be an "AM" section for such a contest.
Other sections could include, at one extreme, equipment only powered by
"solar-power" or "man-power" etc. through to a "Spark Transmitters"
section.
A "Pedestrian Mobile Contest", with a rule requiring that all operation be
carried out whilst climbing uphill, would probably be a real test of
mettle.
No doubt someone else with imagination could dream up some additional
rules and styles of operation for contests along these lines.
How about an "Anti-Contest, Contest" as well ?
