Andy, how would you know if the WIA did or did not? I don't know the
circumstances of the case but I do not detect any feeling here among
amateurs that Region 1 should not have an increased allocation on 40 m. I
cannot see why you brought this subject up on packet. It has nothing to do
with us.
"Boffin" = representatives of Government sponsored agencies, including
defence, industry, communications all of whom push their own barrow. Who
knows what their line of reasoning was if they did indeed oppose Region 1
having an increased allocation? Perhaps we should hear all the arguments
before we jump to conclusions, Andy.
IN any case it had nothing to do with the amateur service so I can't see
why we are discussing it on amateur packet radio.

Didn't look like debate to me, Andy. It seemed that Australian amateurs
were under attack. Read your first bulletin again.

Do you KNOW they the WIA did not do this? No? Neither do I. I believe the
WIA has a good working relationship with the ACA. They seem to have been
able to gain extra privileges for Australian amateurs.
