Oh yes! Nostalgia has set in!
First HF tx - osc., buffer, PA. VHF multipliers with a pea lamp on a loop
to check tuning, coil on a small variable condenser to check actual
frequency of out put of each stage (absorption wave meter), Geloso VFO
driving a 6146, 866As with their 10 amp heaters and their mercurial glow -
still got a box of them in the shed, unused, unwanted but too good to
throw out - know the feeling? Heising modualtion on my first TX - 7C5
(loctal 6V6G) in the final.Huge coil on the wall with swinging link and
3000 volt test tuning capacitors!. Parallel 807s in the final of the
second TX (AT5 - remember them?) EL34s in Class B with 80+ watts of audio
out to modulate the next 100 watt final (HK257B - glowed orange when fully
loaded with 1500 VDC on the anode - keep your fingers away from that!)
It's all coming back to me!
