Perhaps I didn't phrase myself correctly.
If you have a UK amateur radio licence AND you perform comms over the
internet using your callsign AND those comms can be accessed by other
amateurs anywhere in the world by radio THEN you are operating under the
terms of your UK licence and must obey all the rules in BR68 et al.
If you don't have a UK licence then you cannot be expected to obey its
limitations :-)
It doesn't matter in what form the user interface presents itself, the
only thing that matters is that your messages could end up be accessed by
radio somewhere else. As to whether these definitions would stand up in
court if your were to challenge the RA's clarifications is another matter
as I would imagine that UK hams reading this will be quite surprised to
see the RA now attempting to take on the role of UK internet policeman. I
wonder if they can stop the spammers polluting my g7hud.com email
accounts? :-)
