Remove all fat and skin from ˝ pound of gravy beef, shred finely with two
forks. Put meat into a jar with ˝ pint of cold water and ˝ teaspoon of salt.
Allow to stand for 20 minutes. Stand jar in a saucepan of water and heat
gently. Cook 30 minutes. Strain and serve very hot.“

Use a flower or small posy on the tray.
Serve one course at a time.
