I receive new Host Mode Programmer's Guide from Kantronics, released
June 14, 1995 (TNX), I would like to share some new details there.
It can be interesting for programmers and others who want to know how
their KAM+ works. There is a detailed description how host mode works,
some recommendation for programmers etc.
You can find in your local BBS file describing KAM host mode from LA6GHA
from year 1993. All the features there works well on latest models,
but Kantronics added some new command since that time.
The most interesting I think is command <FEND>?<FEND>, which is a polling
request. Response from KAM+ is status frame which contains HF port
status information, like HF mode, sub mode (FEC, phasing, standby,..),
link conditions (ARQ speed, Huffman compression, errors in reception,
IDDLE state,...), status of PTT etc.
There were also other commands added, to allow control of newly implemented
modes like GTOR, Pactor - to force certain speed, etc.
