Hello All
I have been using a Kam for about 3 years on my BBS. About a month ago I
started getting severe interferance on the 2M band. I located the fundamental
freq of the interfering signal as 147.455, a full strength carrier on that
freq, as well as every 30kc up and down the band was found. This signal only
radiates about 10feet from the shack. After much searching the signal was
tracked to the Kam. Disconnecting the computer cable, turning off the computer
or radio makes no difference, it is deffinitely the Kam. A friend brought
around his Kam to compare the difference. His emmitted the same freq tones but
at a much lower level which did not effect the 2m freq I am using, mine being
stronger does effect my user freq. Switching the Kam off results in the
interferance dissapearing completly. Everything is well earthed and no
relocating of cables or other equipment changes it. Has anyone else
experienced this problem? If so, which chip if any has gone crazy? Any advice
on this would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading this....Colin.
